DRESS CODE IT Force Series Releases Device Inventory Feature. Streamline Inventory Operations with QR Code Device Management and Self-Reporting.
Dress Code Inc. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Yuki Ejiri) has released a QR code-based device inventory feature in the DRESS CODE "IT Force" series, which promotes IT asset operational efficiency. This feature issues QR codes for each device, enabling management by linking physical assets with ledger information. During inventory checks, device owners or inventory staff can simply scan the QR code to report usage status, eliminating the need for manual verification and aggregation. By utilizing the device inventory feature, previously cumbersome inventory operations can now be conducted quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
Background
Corporate IT device management has become increasingly complex due to the prevalence of remote work and diversification of employment types. Many companies still rely on surveys and Excel-based inventory checks, but these methods involve checking physical devices without clear device-to-user linkage, leading to persistent issues such as "discrepancies between physical assets and ledger," "devices with unknown users," and "uncollected inventory responses."
As a result, effective response rates for inventory checks remain low, and follow-ups with non-respondents become a significant burden on IT departments. Leaving untracked devices increases security and governance risks. Meanwhile, inventory operations require high effort and often remain a "heavy annual task" in many cases.
To resolve these issues, we have introduced an inventory feature utilizing QR codes. By reducing the inventory burden, organizations can adopt distributed implementations by department or location on monthly or quarterly basis, enabling continuous tracking of actual asset status.
Product Overview
The "Device Inventory" feature enables accurate and efficient matching of physical assets with ledger information. By issuing and affixing QR codes for each device, physical assets can be easily linked with ledger management. During inventory checks, employees can report usage status simply by scanning QR codes, eliminating manual input and collection processes. Administrators can send inventory requests and monitor progress in real-time, enabling smooth company-wide inventory operations. This significantly reduces inventory workload and errors, while maintaining consistency between physical assets and ledgers for more accurate and speedy IT asset management.
Key Features
Device Management QR Code Issuance
Issue and print management QR codes for each device. QR codes contain device identification information, allowing employees to self-report during inventory checks simply by scanning them. This eliminates manual entry of serial numbers and model numbers, enabling quick and accurate matching of physical assets with ledgers.
Device Inventory Request
Send batch inventory requests to device-holding employees through the system. Visualize response status and non-respondent progress in real-time, enabling efficient company-wide progress management that was difficult with traditional email and Excel management.
Self-Reporting
Employees can report usage status simply by scanning their device's QR code with a smartphone. This eliminates the need to input serial numbers and model names, significantly reducing errors and omissions. Simple operations enable anyone to respond, improving information accuracy and collection rates.
